Līga Spunde

Usually, the content of the work determines the physical form of the conception, so she uses variety of media, techniques and materials in her unique installations.

She completed her postgraduate studies in the Department of Visual Communication at the Art Academy of Latvia in 2016, her graduation project, The Hike, was named one of the three best projects by graduates of European art academies. Her recent residencies include MMCA (National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art) Changdong residency, Seoul, KOR (2024) and ISCP (International Studio & Curatorial Program), New York, USA (2023).

Spunde’s work is present in collections of Latvian National Museum of Art, VV Foundation (LV), Signet Bank collection (LV), SEB Bank collection (LV), Zuzāns collection (LV), and private collections around Europe.
